Principal - Lynn Parker
It is an honor to introduce myself as the principal of Priest River Elementary!
The 2022-2023 school year will mark my 29th year in education. One year as Principal of PRE, ten years experience as the Principal of McKinley Elementary School and seventeen years experience as a classroom teacher in every grade level Kindergarten through Fifth. The majority of my teaching experience has been in First Grade.
Along with being an educator, I am first and foremost a wife, mother, and grandmother. My husband Troy and I have four amazing children; Mark (35) an Army Veteran with a bachelors in Graphic Design, Kaycie (35) is a 5th Grade Teacher, Troy Joseph (28) an Air Force Veteran studying cyber security, and Mikayla (26) just got her Master’s Degree in Accounting. I have five amazing grandchildren Kellen (13), Aubrey (7), Maycie (4), Troy Allen (2 months), Collins (1), and Kinna (1 in Oct.) Being a grandma is the best thing ever!
Although I loved being a classroom teacher, it is as an Elementary Principal I have felt I make the most difference. Being a principal provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I firmly believe that every child can be successful and that the partnership between home and school is the key to students' confidence to use what they have learned to shape their future.
My goal is to continue the tradition of excellence here at Priest River Elementary School; I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. I look forward to meeting with parents, students, and as a staff throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school climate, and parent communication.
In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2022-2023 school year.
